Environmental and Sustainability Statement

R2B Training & Consultancy

Environmental and Sustainability Statement

1. Our approach

R2B Training & Consultancy is a small, specialist training provider with a primarily service‑based and digital footprint.
We recognise that our activities still impact the environment and we are committed to reducing that impact in proportionate, practical ways.

2. Principles

In planning and delivering our work we aim to:

  • use resources responsibly and avoid unnecessary waste

  • prioritise lower‑impact options where reasonably possible

  • work with clients, venues and partners who share similar values

  • review our approach as our business and best practice evolve

3. Travel and delivery model

Where possible we will:

  • offer and encourage online delivery for meetings and training, especially where travel would be long‑distance or single‑purpose

  • schedule in‑person events efficiently (for example, grouping meetings or courses in the same area to reduce repeat journeys)

  • use public transport where practical, and consider lower‑emission options when planning travel

  • avoid unnecessary printing of travel documents or course materials

We recognise that in some contexts in‑person delivery is the most effective or accessible option and will balance environmental impact with learning quality and participant needs.

4. Venues, materials and equipment

When selecting venues or working with clients, we will, where reasonably possible:

  • consider venues with good public transport links and basic energy‑efficient measures

  • encourage the use of reusable rather than single‑use items (for example, cups, bottles, stationery)

  • minimise printed materials by using digital resources and screens where feasible

  • design materials so that they can be reused or updated without full reprinting

For our own operations we will:

  • maintain course materials in digital formats as the default

  • avoid unnecessary equipment purchases and prolong the life of IT and other devices where safe and practical

5. Digital tools and data

We use digital platforms for:

  • course delivery (where appropriate)

  • communication and file‑sharing

  • storage of learning materials and records

To reduce environmental impact we will:

  • favour online distribution over printing

  • periodically review and delete data that is no longer needed, in line with our Data Protection Policy and retention schedule

  • seek solutions that balance functionality, security and energy efficiency

6. Procurement and suppliers

When choosing suppliers (for example, venues, printers, IT and other services), we will take into account, where practicable:

  • evidence of basic environmental responsibility (for example, energy efficiency, waste reduction, sustainable sourcing)

  • the ability to provide digital or lower‑impact options (for example, electronic invoicing, print‑on‑demand rather than large stock runs)

Cost, quality and availability will still be important factors, but where options are comparable we will favour those with a more sustainable profile.

7. Continuous improvement

We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing process rather than a fixed endpoint.

As R2B grows and our activities change, we will:

  • keep this statement under review (at least every two years, or sooner if needed)

  • consider feedback from clients, partners and participants

  • identify simple, realistic steps to further reduce waste and unnecessary travel
