Accessibility Statement

1. Purpose

This Accessibility Statement explains R2B Training & Consultancy’s commitment to making our services, content and learning environments accessible to as many people as possible.

It outlines the steps we take, what you can expect from us, and how you can tell us about any accessibility needs or problems.

2. Scope

This statement applies to:

  • our website (https://www.r2b.uk and related pages)

  • digital content we create or share (for example, documents, slides, videos)

  • in‑person and online training and consultancy delivered by R2B

It should be read alongside our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and our Complaints and Concerns Policy.

3. Our commitment

R2B is committed to:

  • providing information and services in ways that are accessible and usable for as many people as reasonably possible

  • designing learning and materials using Plain English and clear structure

  • making reasonable adjustments for individuals with disabilities, health conditions, neurodivergence or other access needs

  • listening to feedback and improving accessibility over time

We aim to go beyond minimum legal compliance where we can, recognising that good accessibility benefits everyone.

4. Web accessibility

We aim for our website to be as consistent as reasonably possible with the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

In practical terms, this includes:

  • clear structure and headings to support screen reader navigation

  • meaningful link text that describes the destination

  • high‑contrast text and backgrounds where possible

  • avoiding reliance on colour alone to convey meaning

  • ensuring text is resizable using browser controls

  • keeping animations, video and interactive features to a reasonable level

Some older content or third‑party features may not fully meet current standards, but we will prioritise accessibility when we create or update pages.

5. Documents, learning materials and media

For documents, slides and other resources, we aim to:

  • use clear headings, short paragraphs and bullet points

  • write in Plain English and explain technical terms where needed

  • use accessible fonts and sufficient text size

  • avoid dense blocks of text and cluttered layouts

  • provide captions or transcripts for pre‑recorded video or audio where reasonably practicable

  • avoid using images of text where possible, or provide equivalent text alternatives

If you need materials in a different format (for example, large print, high‑contrast, notes in advance, or copy‑free slides where possible), you can contact us and we will make reasonable adjustments.

6. Training and events

For in‑person and online events, we will:

  • ask participants in advance (where possible) if they have any access needs or adjustments they wish to share

  • consider factors such as pace, breaks, lighting, seating and noise levels

  • use a mix of delivery methods (spoken input, visual materials, written notes or chat) to support different learning styles

  • encourage a respectful environment where people feel able to request clarification, breaks or adjustments

  • work with venues and platforms that support accessibility as far as reasonably practicable

Where possible, we will also:

  • provide joining instructions that include information about venue access or platform features (for example, live captions, chat, reactions)

  • signpost to any accessibility features available in the software being used (for example, captions, keyboard shortcuts).

7. Reasonable adjustments

We recognise that different people have different needs. Reasonable adjustments might include, for example:

  • sending materials in advance in an accessible format

  • adjusting the pace of delivery, including more frequent breaks

  • enabling captions or providing transcripts where possible

  • adapting group activities to support people who find certain formats difficult

  • agreeing preferred ways to interact (for example, chat, microphones, cameras)

We will discuss individual needs with you (or your organisation) and agree what is practical in the context of the particular course or service. We may not be able to meet every request, but we will always try to find workable alternatives.

8. Limitations and areas for improvement

Despite our efforts, some content or features may not be fully accessible, for example:

  • older documents that were created before our current accessibility approach

  • materials or platforms provided by third parties where we have limited control

  • highly specialist content that is difficult to simplify without losing essential meaning

When we identify issues, we will:

  • address them where reasonably possible

  • build improved accessibility into future updates and new materials

  • use feedback to prioritise changes that will have the greatest impact.

9. Feedback and reporting accessibility issues

We welcome feedback about accessibility. If you:

  • find any part of our website, content or training hard to use

  • need information in a different format

  • want to discuss adjustments for a course or consultancy session

please contact:

R2B Training & Consultancy

Please tell us:

  • which service, page or document you are referring to

  • what difficulty you are experiencing

  • any specific changes or formats that would help you

We will aim to respond within 10 working days and explain what we can do and the likely timescale.

10. Escalation and complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response about an accessibility issue, you can use our Complaints and Concerns Policy.
We will consider whether we handled your request reasonably, explain our decision, and identify any further steps we can take.

11. Monitoring and review

We will keep this Accessibility Statement under review and update it:

  • at least annually

  • when we make significant changes to our website, platforms or services

  • when feedback highlights areas where we can improve

We aim to build accessibility into our planning rather than adding it as an afterthought.
